Hi, Andrea here. As I record this for you, we are fast approaching the holiday season. So I wanted to take a moment on behalf of Mary, Martin, Henry, Dr. Bob, and myself, to wish you all the very best and to thank you for supporting us through our first season of The Write Fix Podcast. You will be receiving one more podcast episode this month before we all ring in the New Year.
We wanted to let you know that we will be back with a Season Two, but we are going to take a hiatus so that we can enjoy the holidays, finish up our 2023 writing projects, and get a sense of what our training is going to look like in 2024.
We will be entering our third year with the Story Grid Guild in January, and each year of the training has had a different focus and set of demands in terms of our writing projects. And as those demands have changed over time, we have responded by re-evaluating what we do during our weekly study group.
The writing process we share with you on The Write Fix Podcast began toward the end of our first year but didn't really take shape in the way you know it until we were wrestling with the concepts we were studying in our second year in the guild. We don't quite know what to expect yet in year three, and how that might lead us to re-evaluate how we structure our time going forward.
However, we do hope and expect to continue with our writing exercise because we really enjoy it and have benefitted from it. But there may be ways we can enhance the experience further. Once we decide on our path forward, we will be back to share what we are doing with all of you.
I don't have a start date for that yet, so the best way to keep up with The Write Fix is to subscribe if you haven't already. That way, once new programs start rolling out they will be delivered to your inbox. And, we'll know you care about the show.
While you are waiting for new episodes to arrive, I encourage you to check out some of the other things that a few of us are up to. Mary and Dr. Bob have both been busily working on their weekly drafts and posting their finished projects on their own substacks.
Mary's Substack is called Stories of the Eight Winds.
Dr. Bob posts his completed drafts (and oftentimes a 624 breakdown of his work) at Dr. Bob's Head. He has also recently launched a new Substack called Dr. Bob's Head Substack in which one of his favorite recurring characters, Flora, has started her own blog. So please be sure to check those out.
I have also recently launched a new Substack called Move Think Sense Feel. This is where I will be posting my non-fiction writing on the subject of somatics and mind-body movement. Starting in January, I will be sending out weekly Awareness Through Movement lessons. Awareness Through Movement is a gentle, somatic-based process that offers many health benefits. You can learn more about it at Move Think Sense Feel here on Substack.
I'll include links to Mary, Dr. Bob's, and my new Substack in the show notes.
In closing, I'd like to acknowledge that for many people around the world, and closer to home too, the Holidays may be difficult. Stories are one way we learn to navigate the challenges in our lives, so dedicating oneself to becoming a better storyteller can help to make the world a better place. We here at The Write Fix hope our stories will do just that one day, and in the meantime, we hope our humble podcast will help you along your journey to becoming a better storyteller too.
So...once again, on behalf of Mary, Martin, Herny, Dr. Bob, and myself, we wish you all a beautiful holiday season and a New Year filled with a renewed sense of possibility and a world of peace.
